Modern Ethernet over Coax (EoC) technology is designed with advanced modulation technology to increase the trasmission and the receiving speeds of Ethernet packets over coaxial cable. The operating frequency is programmed in either high band or low band to avoid conflict agaist Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) signal, so that both video and data content can be multiplexed to deliver triple-play service. The uplink and downlink Ethernet speed can also be configured to be symmetrical or asymmetrical.

EoC Access devices offer the most efficent and cost saving way to deliver fiber-to-anywhere service via the last-mile coaxial cabling. They can be installed to extend FTTH or RFoG service to multi-dwelling unit without laying fiber undergroud or through walls and ceilings inside the building.
